BUILD Initiative Track at the Smart Start Conference
In response to the question of whether issues of race, language and culture need to be addressed directly and separately or embedded within all aspects of systems building work, the BUILD Initiative has responded by saying, “both.”
Through generous funding from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and other funders, we have launched an important new initiative that will provide greater resources and technical assistance to states to support their efforts to build a comprehensive early childhood system that is designed to be culturally and linguistically responsive.
To that end, we recently partnered with the National Smart Start Conference to offer a series of sessions and discussions designed to highlight both challenges and strategies that will be helpful for state and community leaders to consider. You will find a variety of resources from that partnership below. They are listed by the workshop topics that BUILD hosted at the conference as well as additional resources that we recommend to state and community leaders that may be helpful to this critical work going forward.
