CONFERENCE CALLS
As states develop their early childhood systems, they also need to develop data systems for fiscal accountability, performance measurement, and quality improvement purposes. This includes providing an overall picture of children and their development both within and across the areas of health, early learning, family support, and special needs. It includes attention to program practices and workforce characteristics as well as young children and their families. Ideally, it involves tracking young children over time, to assess intermediate and long-term impacts and identify gaps in service and areas requiring further attention.
The BUILD Initiative has planned a series of teleconferences to discuss how BUILD and other states can develop the data systems they need in early learning.
