Young Children's Healthy Development and Learning in a Diverse Society

This document offers information and resources for successfully supporting intersections between issues of diversity (ethnicity, culture and language) and early childhood systems, including Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS).

The first of two sections focuses on the development of young children in the context of ethnicity, language and culture. The second section uses the same lenses to examine the major components of quality systems (standards, continuous improvement approaches, planning, monitoring, accountability, financial supports, engagement, outreach, promotion).

Resources to support policies, planning and professional development are provided.
